Amir Iqbal Khan

Amir Khan wants to fight Floyd Mayweather next after claiming a unanimous points victory over American Chris Algieri in their welterweight bout in New York on Friday.
Khan, 28, scored 117-111, 117-111 and 115-113 on the three judges' scorecards to claim a fifth consecutive win.
The Briton now wants to try to end triple-welterweight world champion Mayweather's 48-fight unbeaten run.
"Amir Khan wants to fight Floyd Mayweather," he said.
"I want that next. I'm number one World Boxing Council [challenger]. He's the champion. So let's make it happen."
Mayweather beat Manny Pacquiao earlier this month in Las Vegas to add the
WBO welterweight title to the WBC and WBA titles he already owned, in the most lucrative fight in boxing history.
Mayweather, 38, who is set to retire after a final fight in September, turned down a meeting with Khan last year ahead of the Pacquiao bout, with the five-weight world champion preferring to fight Argentina's Marcos Maidana instead.
Former two-time light-welterweight world champion Khan showed good stamina to overcome former light-welterweight world champion Algieri at the Barclays Centre, Brooklyn, scoring heavily with his quick combinations after a bright start from the New Yorker.
Algieri landed a strong combination of his own early in the eighth round, prompting a surge of cheers for the New Yorker from the partisan crowd, but Khan says it inspired him to dig deeper and see out the fight.
"He came to fight, wanted to win, had his home crowd, but I came here to win," he said.
"The crowd really fired me up the last three rounds when Chris really came at me hard."

ROSS ULBRICHT

ROSS ULBRICHT CONCEIVED of his Silk Road black market as an online utopia beyond law enforcement’s reach. Now he’ll spend the rest of his life firmly in its grasp, locked inside a federal penitentiary.
On Friday Ulbricht was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for his role in creating and running Silk Road’s billion-dollar, anonymous black market for drugs. Judge Katherine Forrest gave the most severe sentence possible, beyond what even the prosecution had explicitly requested. The minimum Ulbricht could have served was 20 years.
“The stated purpose [of the Silk Road] was to be beyond the law. In the world you created over time, democracy didn’t exist. You were captain of the ship, the Dread Pirate Roberts,” she told Ulbricht as she read the sentence, referring to his pseudonym as the Silk Road’s leader. “Silk Road’s birth and presence asserted that its…creator was better than the laws of this country. This is deeply troubling, terribly misguided, and very dangerous.” In addition to his prison sentence, Ulbricht was also ordered to pay a massive restitution of more than $183 million, what the prosecution had estimated to be the total sales of illegal drugs and counterfeit IDs through the Silk Road—at a certain bitcoin exchange rate—over the course of its time online. Any revenue from the government sale of the bitcoins seized from the Silk Road server and will be applied to that debt.I wanted to empower people to make choices in their lives…to have privacy and anonymity,” Ulbricht told the judge. “I’m not a sociopathic person trying to express some inner badness.”

    Google Photos

Google finally freed Google Photos. The service has long wanted to be the ultimate photo-management app, but it’s been trapped—by Google+. No longer: Now, Google Photos is available for Android, iOS, and via the Web, and you won’t have to hide your images inside that long-dormant G+ account.
Though Google Photos is a brand-new product, it stills shares its DNA with Google+’s photo services. Your photos remain private unless you want to post or share them. Google+ is still one entry point option—if you select “Photos” on your Google+ profile, you get your Google Photos collection—but you can manage your pics from the standalone apps and at photos.google.com. In other words, there’s no Google+ tie-in needed.
While the emancipation of Google Photos is great news, the app has a few tradeoffs. For starters, you need to be OK with storing all your photos in the cloud to get the most of it. But the new photo service’s organizational powers, search capabilities, and sync/backup features add up to an essential download. The first benefit of the service is freeing up storage on your phone. As long as you’re cool with a maximum resolution of 16 megapixels and/or 1080p video, Google Photos provides free, unlimited cloud backup for everything you shoot. For higher-resolution shots and 4K early adopters, there are also options. You get a free 15GB of Google Drive storage, but then the price ramps up to $1.99 per month for 100GB and $9.99 per month for
    1TB.

    FA Cup Final

The showpiece English FA Cup and Scottish Cup finals on Saturday will see Arsenal face Aston Villa at Hampden Park.
A global TV audience of half a billion people is expected to watch the Gunners take on Villa.
Arsenal, seeking a record 12th FA Cup, face a club who last won it in 1957.
In Scotland, top-flight Inverness CT and second-tier Falkirk make for an unexpected final line-up.
This will be Arsenal's 19th FA Cup final, a record for any team. They already share the record of 11 wins with Manchester United.
Saturday will be Arsenal's 40th appearance at Wembley (old and new stadium combined), again more than any other team.
Only George Ramsay (six with Aston Villa between 1887 and 1920) has won the FA Cup as a manager more times than Arsene Wenger.
Villa have played in the FA Cup final 10 times, winning seven, making them the fourth-most successful side in the competition (Tottenham have won eight finals). There will be a surprise name on the Scottish Cup as Premiership side Inverness Caledonian Thistle take on Championship club Falkirk.
League champions and 36-time winners Celtic were seen off by
Caley Thistle following a dramatic semi-final that finished 1-1 in normal time and witnessed three more goals in extra-time, with defender David Raven grabbing the winner.
Manager John Hughes's side will be looking to go one better than in 2014, when they were beaten by Aberdeen on penalties in the Scottish League Cup final - their first major cup final. They have already secured a spot in the Europa League after finishing third in the Premiership.
Two-time winners Falkirk, meanwhile, came through three rounds before Craig Sibbald's 75th-minute effort saw off fellow Championship side Hibernian.

    Michael Jackson Property

The California ranch once known as Neverland and owned by late pop star Michael Jackson is going on the market for $100 million. The Los Olivos property, about 40 miles from Santa Barbara, is now called “Sycamore Valley Ranch,”The iconic floral clock, which spells out “Neverland,” is still there, and so is the building that once housed the Neverland Valley Fire Department, although it’s no longer staffed by full-time firefighters. But the railroad tracks and train station created at Mr. Jackson’s behest are still there.Mr. Jackson paid $19.5 million for the ranch in 1987 and lived there more than 15 years. Amid financial struggles, he defaulted on a $24.5 million loan backed by the ranch. Real-estate investment firm Colony Capital bought the note in 2008 for $23 million and put the title into a joint venture it formed with the pop star. Colony spent millions on upgrades, intending to eventually sell it.
Acknowledging Mr. Jackson’s many enthusiastic fans, the listing agents warned they will be doing “extensive prequalification” of potential buyers before showing the property. “Our seller is not encouraging a lot of showings,” Mr. Hyland said. “We’re not going to be giving tours,” Ms. Perkins added.Could Neverland become a state park?

    Stephen Curry in action

Wardell Stephen "Steph" Curry II is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association. He looked like an MVP as he put up 34 points on 22 shots to lead Golden State to a Game 1 win Tuesday night.
Everything was falling for him — he was 6-of-9 on contested shots. The bigger concern for the Rockets should be that Curry had 13 uncontested looks (hitting seven) — they can’t give him that many open looks, they’re lucky he didn’t put up more points. From his high school days through the pre-draft process — "... it is notable how far apart Curry’s role in the NCAA was from the role he is likely to play in the NBA" — there have been questions about just how big an impact Stephen Curry's likely to have. Seven games into his pro career, answers seemed tough to come by.season 2-5, with three of those losses coming by double-digits. Despite the presence of capable veteran scorers like Monta Ellis,Stephen Jackson and Corey Maggette in head coach Don Nelson's uptempo system, the Warriors were struggling to score, ranking down around the bottom third of the league in points per possession. On a more expected note, they couldn't defend anybody, giving up 108 or more points in five of their seven outings.
Curry was slowly finding his way, averaging just less than nine points in 30 minutes per game, and had come off the bench for the first time in a 14-point loss to the Indiana Pacers. It was a sputtering start to his career, one that didn't necessarily seem to portend greatness ahead ... and yet, he was determined to find a way forward.

    Guarani draw with Racing Club

Paraguay's Guarani drew 0-0 at Argentinian giants Racing Club on Thursday, securing a Copa Libertadores' semifinal in the process thanks to a 1-0 aggregate win.Racing, the champions of Argentina, needed to score, and spent most of the first half creating and wasting chances.A red card for keeper Sebastian Saja just before the break hamstrung them, though, even if replacement stopper Nelson Ibanez did keep out Julian Benitez's penalty. After that Guarani dug in and progressed."This was the best game of my life. We are happy that we gave a historic step in this tournament. Now, it is time to celebrate, there is a long way ahead," said man of the match Alfredo Aguilar. The tournament now stops for the Copa America and will resume with Guarani against River Plate and Inter against Tigres.

    Top Celebrity news Melissa McCarthy

Melissa McCarthy has pulled an impressive style hat trick, wearing her third bold print in row!
At Wednesday’s Spy premiere in London, the actress (who is gearing up to debut her own clothing line in August!) stepped out in one of her most eye-catching looks so far: a chiffon snakeskin-print maxi dress. So what will the actress’s soon-to-launch clothing line include? A mix of 80 different pieces from sizes 4 to 28.,
“I want to do my own fashion line both to help women who are plus-size, and because I’ve always loved fashion, I love textiles, I truly love fabric,” she told PEOPLE last year. “Like, I have a compulsive problem with fabric. I can’t walk past it. I will buy stacks and stacks of fabric. I love it.”
She added that after welcoming her second daughter, Georgette, in 2010, she started to re-evaluate her clothing and had a hard time finding quality fabrics, something her line will offer.
“I was a different size than I’d ever been, and I realized just because ’m a different size doesn’t mean I flipped some switch and turned off a desire for anything current or modern, or a desire to look good and feel good,” she explained. “The majority of what’s out there for plus-sizes is really bad fabric, really bad design, and if you’re plus-size, you actually need a little help so you need better fabric with a weight that hangs better, that’s more flattering and forgiving.”

Charter's $56 billion Time Warner Cable deal to face U.S. scrutiny

Charter Communications Inc, seeking to remake the U.S. cable television industry by acquiring larger rival Time Warner Cable Inc for $56 billion, will try to skirt the regulatory obstacles that helped sink Comcast Corp's earlier bid for Time Warner Cable.
The combined company would control a big swath of the cable and Internet markets, marking a huge step toward industry consolidation, long advocated by cable pioneer John Malone, Charter's biggest shareholder.
    agency's chairman, Tom Wheeler.

The agreement is the latest example of how cable companies are grappling with declining subscriber numbers as viewers shift to cheaper and more flexible streaming services offered by Netflix Inc, Amazon.com
Charter and others have been beefing up their higher-margin Internet businesses through consolidation and partnerships to offset TV subscriber losses.

That market power is likely to be regulators' main focus. The combined companies would control about one-fifth of the U.S. broadband Internet market, according to research firm MoffettNathanson.
Still, experts said the transaction is different enough from the scuttled Comcast takeover that it is likely to win regulatory approval with certain conditions.

O2 service 'back to normal' after network signal problems

Phone provider O2 has said its service is "back to normal" after customers complained of problems with reception in several parts of the UK.
The company has apologised after people in areas including London, Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow and parts of Northern Ireland said they had lost signal.
Business Secretary Sajid Javid was among those expressing frustration on Twitter, asking O2 to "sort it out".
O2 said network equipment was to blame for the temporary lack of reception.
A spokeswoman said "some customers experienced a problem accessing our network" on Monday evening and apologised to those affected before the service returned to normal at 23:35 BST.
She said: "The problem was caused by some network equipment that was temporarily unable to correctly process mobile phone traffic for some of our customers."To be more specific, it was primarily the system that allows overseas customers to roam on to our network.
"The problem also impacted a second piece of equipment that allows calls, texts and data for UK customers to be managed correctly on our network.
"Having identified this, we have now isolated the problem to prevent this from happening again."Many O2 customers had taken to social media complaining of not being able to send or receive calls and text messages, as well as problems with the 3G internet signal.
While the problems were ongoing, it had advised people to reset their device, and visit its support page if problems persisted.
Some customers lost reception for up to five hours on Monday.
Media and technology analyst Matthew Howett told BBC Breakfast the fact that O2 had advised customers to turn their phones off and on again suggested "a problem with registering with the network".
